Costa de la Luz Beaches

Summertime and the living is easy

Costa de la Luz beaches are typically more expansive than those elsewhere in southern Spain and often back onto sand dunes and coastal forests.

Whilst they remain generally uncrowded for most of the year, July and August do see a peak in activity, particularly near the larger resorts. The beaches in Huelva province tend to be less winswept than their neighbours further up the coast in Cadiz, but remain popular with the windsurfing crowd.

Whilst the sand is often pristine and almost caribbean white, and the sea a beautiful azure blue, be warned, that the Atlantic is comparatively cooler than the Med! The Cadiz beaches are usually quieter and often have very large dunes, due to the effects of the strong Atlantic winds. A must for surfers.
