Jet2.com, the North airline, announced a brand new route from Edinburgh - to Murcia/Alicante . The new destination, which goes on sale on Monday 24th Oct, will give passengers an opportunity to take advantage of the cheapest flights from Edinburgh to the Costa Blanca and the Costa Calida regions.

The new route, starts on the 8th April next year, will allow people to fly to Murcia/Alicante. Murcia offers unrivalled access to the whole of the Alicante region, including the Costa Calida, Costa Blanca, La Manga, Benidorm and Torrevieja.

Philip Meeson, Jet2.com boss, said, “Edinburgh is going to be a real focus for us next year. We have found that people have been very enthusiastic about our low cost route to Manchester and we feel that there is a great opportunity to extend our services to other exciting destinations in Europe.

“Murcia is just the beginning for us – we are really keen to understand where people would like to fly to. Indeed, we are flying to Murcia as we have been inundated with requests from the people of Scotland. This new route is an excellent European destination to start with as it gives holiday makers so many options to travel cheaply to 2nd homes and favourite vacation spots along this popular stretch of coast."
